[Clfs-support] Cannot login on serial port (embedded ARM, busybox)

Andrew,

This is probably unrelated, but I think there may be a bug in section 9.3.1
(Installation of the Kernel). In it, you are asked to copy system.map:

cp System.map ${CLFS}/boot/System.map-2.6.38.2

and later asked to build the module dependencies:

${CLFS}/cross-tools/bin/depmod.pl -F ${CLFS}/boot/System.map \
    -b ${CLFS}/lib/modules/2.6.38.2

But at that point the name of the file is "${CLFS}/boot/System.map-2.6.38.2"
rather than "${CLFS}/boot/System.map" as indicated in the last line. I had
forgotten that this line had failed. But I went back and changed it and it
executed fine. The system has the same problem, but I thought it was worth
describing what I think is a mistake.
