I understand what you're saying sorry!
I indeed do not have glibc 2.4 installed, I have 2.9
So I did: 
root:/sources# ln -sv /lib/ld-2.9.so /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2
`/lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2' -> `/lib/ld-2.9.so'

It works now. :-)

And I assume that you do not have glibc 2.4 installed. Please pay
attention to the command that you execute and read the comments around
them instead of just executing commands.
