[Clfs-support] depmod segmentation fault

I get the following when attempting to install the modules in section 7.10 of clfs document  Version SVN-20080719-PowerPC,  Build machine:     Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS release 4 (Nahant Update 4):

 make ARCH=ppc CROSS_COMPILE=${CLFS_TARGET}- INSTALL_MOD_PATH=${CLFS} modules_install <ENTER>

                            .
                            .

  INSTALL net/sched/sch_teql.ko
  INSTALL net/sctp/sctp.ko
  DEPMOD  2.6.24.7
/bin/sh: line 1: 10933 Segmentation fault      /sbin/depmod -ae -F System.map -b /mnt/clfs -r 2.6.24.7
make: *** [_modinst_post] Error 139

I'm not sure if this is such a big deal, I tried to eliminate all module selections in kernel menu configs selections.  The kernel did in fact link.  If anyone has seen this I'm interested in hearing about it.
