Reading along through the book, I came across these instructions:

If during the building of the CLFS system you encounter any errors,
have any questions, or think there is a typo in the book, please start
by consulting the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) that is located at
http://trac.clfs.org/wiki/faq.

Which led me to this:

Any questions or inquiries for improvements/suggestions/bugs please
feel free to chat in #clfs on irc.freenode.net.

Not having used an IRC client recently, I then tried building
HexChat-2.12.4 on my latest LFS/BLFS system (lfs-SVN-20161221)
unsuccessfully:

make[1]: Entering directory '/sources/hexchat/hexchat-2.12.4'
CDPATH="${ZSH_VERSION+.}:" && cd . && /bin/sh
/sources/hexchat/hexchat-2.12.4/build-aux/missing aclocal-1.15 -I m4
configure.ac:19: error: macro AX_APPEND_COMPILE_FLAGS is not defined.
Is autoconf-archive installed?

I then tried building the old version of autoconf (Autoconf-2.13) with no avail.

Suggestions?

Thanks,
Roger
