[Clfs-support] gcc testsuite hangs

Hello there, running the testsuite for gcc-4.4.1 in chapter 10 of
SVN-20091015-x86_64-Multilib I can see with top that all my RAM is being
used and the host hangs (gnome-panel and top itself hangs). I'm
compiling on a Core 2 Duo 1.8GHz with 2GB of RAM and no SWAP (thought
this shouldn't be necessary). Should I add a swap partition or is there
anything I can do to run the testsuite?. The test hangs essentially at
the beginning with

Running /sources/gcc-4.4.1/gcc/testsuite/gcc.c-torture/compile/compile.exp ...


And that's the last of it.
