Perhaps my last posting on  - Version 1.1.0-rc2-x86_64-Multilib

The following is incorrect, viz ticket 169

The correct contents listing would now be (as of udev-124) ;

Installed programs: udevadm, udevd, udevinfo(symlink to udevadm), udevsettle(symlink to udevadm)
Installed library: libvolume_idInstalled directory: /etc/udev

...[description of libvolume_id is needed]....

libvolume_id:   Provides udev with the filesystem type of a volume and the label and uuid to name a device node.

..
/lib64/udev :  Contains udev helper programs
          and static devices which get copied to /dev when booted.
The functionality of the programs  udevcontrol, udevmonitor, udevtest, udevtriggerare now incorporated into the udevadm utility.
