 No, what's significant is using a host which cannot run big-endian
ppc code - we both did that.  I'm glad you completed the build, for
the moment I've mentally filed your original posting under "can't
reproduce this".

 OpenSuse 10.3 isn't some strangely old distro - I wondered if it
was a libtool bug - if it is, then I guess I'll see it for myself
when I have time to build clfs from a system with libtool-1.5.26.
