 This doesn't affect the book, per se, but it likely will in the future.
 As of GCC 4.4, the GCC devs have decided to look for CLooG and PPL in
 order to assist with loop rewriting (I guess), which means that these two
 libraries are likely to become hard deps in the 4.5 or 4.6 timeframe.  PPL
 seeks the GMP C++ library, so it should likely be left as futureproofing,
 but I the MPBSD library is still unnecessary.  This doesn't exactly change
 the present situation, but it's worth noting for the future....
