The recent command STILL DID NOT FIX IT. YOU CAN'T SPECEFY -Dvendorprefix
FROM ./configure.gnu. YOU NEED TO REPLACE THE FIRST LINE WITH

sh Configure -des -Dprefix=/usr \
}}}
THEN WE CAN PUT THIS TO BED.
